Blerter uses Geolocation Services to help the event Ops Centre quickly locate and add a meaningful location to the situation your are Blerting about. This means they have the coordinates to send help to the exact spot as quickly as possible.

Turn location on or off for your iOS device

How to turn Location Services on or off for specific apps

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services.

  2. Make sure that Location Services is on.

  3. Scroll down to find the app.

  4. Tap the app and select an option:
    Never: Prevents access to Location Services information.
    While Using the App: Allows access to Location Services only when the app or one of its features is visible on screen. If an app is set to While Using the App, you might see your status bar turn blue with a message that an app is actively using your location.
    Always: Allows access to your location even when the app is in the background.

Turn location on or off for your Android device

When location is on, you can get information based on where your device has been. For example, you can get automatic commute predictions or better search results.

When an app is using your device’s precise location, the top of your screen will show Location 

Note: Some of these steps work only on Android 9.0 and up. 

Turn location on or off

When you have location turned on, your device uses GPS, Wi-Fi, mobile networks, and sensors to get the most accurate location.

If you turn off location, it will also be turned off for all apps. Many features also won’t work.

  1. Open your device's Settings app.

  2. Tap Security & location  Location.Note: If you don't see "Security & location," tap Location.

  3. If you see "Mode," go to the steps for Android 8.1 and below.

  4. Turn Use location on or off.

Not working on Desktop? 

On the off chance that the GeoLocation is not working for your on Desktop, we recommend: 

  1. refreshing the browser and then 

  2. closing and reopening the browser if the refresh is not successful.
